Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge

Introduction

A true wilderness retreat, Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge is the only lodge situated within the 700,000 acres of Kenai Fjords National Park.

The property is nestled amongst the trees on the edge of a tranquil lagoon, offering views out across the water to the Pedersen Glacier and surrounding coastal mountains. Located within the boundaries of the Pedersen Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary, here you’ll find harbour seals, otters, black bears and bald eagles.

Against this stunning backdrop, the elegantly rustic Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge features 16 wooden cabins, connected to the cosy main lodge by a network of boardwalks. Each cabin is en-suite, fully heated and has its own private deck, the ideal spot for a morning coffee or sunset cocktail.

The main lodge building blends discreetly into the surrounding natural environment and includes a bar, guest lounge and dining room, where large windows offer tantalising views of the wilderness on the doorstep. Freshly prepared meals may include local seafood, warming soups and homemade desserts.

Glacier Lodge is accessed by boat from Seward, offering the perfect introduction to the wildlife and glaciers for which the Kenai Fjords National Park is known. The 4-5 hour scenic cruise transfer may reveal a variety of marine life including whales, steller sea lions, Dall’s porpoises, sea otters and more. During your stay a choice of activities are available from the lodge, such as nature walks, sea-kayaking and canoeing. The lodge’s guides are on hand to help you make the most of your wilderness experience in the Kenai Fjords.
