This new sister ship to the Hondius, the M/V Janssonius is also named after a Dutch cartographer and combines the same features of a classic polar exploration vessel alongside the comforts of a modern deluxe hotel.

As one of the strongest ice-strengthened vessels in our fleet, the Janssonius is ideal for advanced and exploratory polar journeys. The ship exceeds all of the green requirements of the Polar Code as adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), using only bio-degradable paints, LED lighting, steam heat, and flexible power management systems to keep fuel consumption and CO2 emission at the absolute minimum. Stabilisers make for smooth sailing whilst two separate gangways ensure a quick and efficient embarkation process into the fleet of Zodiacs.

Offering superior accommodation in 80 well-appointed cabins, the Janssonius provides a superb level of comfort in an informal and cosy atmosphere. Ship facilities include a dedicated presentation room, an observation lounge, bar and library.
