Seaventure

Introduction

A classic and strong Polar expedition ship, the Seaventure immerses passengers in their surroundings with opportunities to participate in important scientific research projects and activities including kayaking and camping.

Maximum passengers: 139

Featuring the highest possible ice class rating, the strength and stability of the Seaventure allows for greater exploration into areas that would often be inaccessible to many polar vessels. Also unique to the MS Seaventure is an on-board custom built science laboratory, used in the Citizen Science programme, providing the opportunity for passengers to participate in ongoing scientific research projects.

Spacious common areas aboard the vessel include a peaceful library with computers, a lounge/bar featuring live music and a large dining room serving world class cuisine. Ample outdoor deck space allows for prime wildlife viewing or al fresco dining when weather permits. The ship also boasts a fitness centre, sauna and an outdoor heated saltwater swimming pool.

Cabins are comfortable and well-appointed, with many having glass doors or private balconies for optimal viewing and space. Alcoholic and soft drinks are included and there is a complementary mini bar in every cabin which is refilled daily.

On every voyage there will be a resident professional photographer, offering advice and instruction when needed, alongside a Dedicated Passenger Service representative who is on hand to answer any queries you may have. On-board extras include the chance to try kayaking or camping on selected itineraries.

Citizen Science

Get involved and give back by participating in various Citizen Science projects, both on and off the vessel.

Make a difference by helping the scientific community through participating in data collection and analysis. Partnering with research facilities like NASA, the Scripps Institute and other climate change facilities, take the opportunity to join ongoing investigations and public participation activities devoted to scientific research in remote places like Antarctica.

You can engage in a number of unique projects, from surveying penguins and studying phytoplankton, to tracking whales and mapping weather patterns.

The projects are informative, interactive, and fun! There are multiple chances to actively collaborate on several different projects during your voyage and your on-board Citizen Science coordinator will keep you posted on the projects you can participate in each day.
