Opus XVI Edvard Grieg Heritage Hotel is a family run luxury hotel, owned and managed by the great-great-grandson of John Grieg, who was the famous musician’s older brother.
The facade of the building has remained mostly unchanged as it was in Edvard Grieg’s time, and many of the original features have been preserved. The hotel also houses a small exhibition offering a taste of the composer’s life and works.
Rooms are individually styled and comfortable with some offering views towards Mount Floyen or overlooking the quiet plaza of Vagsallmenningen.
With a great blend of traditional and modern the hotel also offers a restaurant, bar and a classic café.
And with its proximity to the Fish Market, the historic Bryggen warf, Mt. Floyen funicular and the numerous museums, galleries, bars and restaurants it is the ideal base for exploring all Bergen has to offer.
