Somerscales Boutique Hotel – Valparaiso

Introduction

The Somerscales Boutique Hotel is named after the nineteenth century English painter Thomas Somerscales, who in 1874 built the property as a home for his family. The story is typical of Valparaiso, the city in which the hotel is located, which has for many years attracted artists, musicians and poets to its bohemian streets and inspirational architecture.

The homely feel of the building didn’t leave with the Somerscales and with only 8 guest rooms, the hotel retains a sense of intimacy and cosiness which make it an ideal overnight resting stop for anyone visiting the region.
