Introduction

Torfhús Retreat is inspired by an Icelandic Viking farm at Stöng. All buildings are of the classic Icelandic torfhouse style, made of stones, turf and wood. Located in a secluded area, offering a place to relax and unwind for the everyday routine.

Each Torfhús at the retreat offers two sleeping rooms and a spacious living area. Adjacent to the houses the steam rises from the geothermal powered basalt stone pools. Every item, fixture and furniture carefully selected to enrich this truly unique experience. The house takes you back a century, while a historic ethos is cleverly combined with modern-day comforts.

At the retreat there is also a cosy restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, a rich soup of the day and a typical Icelandic dinner. There is also a little deli corner where you can choose from a selection of snacks, sandwiches, cold drinks and alcoholic beverages.
