Wickaninnish Inn, nr Tofino

Introduction

Situated on Vancouver Island’s magnificently rugged west coast, the luxurious Wickaninnish Inn is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on three sides and backed by lush rainforest. The ‘Wick Inn’ comprises two main buildings, ‘At-the-Pointe’ and ‘On-the-Beach’, and provides direct access on to Chesterman Beach as well as to rainforest hiking trails.

Ocean views are available from all public areas and from each of the 75 deluxe rooms and suites, making this the ideal place to stay for spectacular sunsets and winter storm watching. Each room boasts a fireplace, soaker tub and private bar, with binoculars and rain gear provided to ensure guests enjoy their time outdoors as much as indoors.

The Ancient Cedars Spa provides an alternative to beach walks and wildlife excursions; here you can relax and rejuvenate, just a stone’s throw from the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. Other facilities at The Wickaninnish include the Lookout Library, fitness centre and complimentary bike hire (seasonal). Henry Nolla’s Carving Shed offers the chance to watch wood carvers at work, carrying on the traditions of the local First Nations people.

Enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail at the On the Rocks Lounge before sitting down to the very best of Pacific Northwest cuisine at The Pointe Restaurant, renowned for its panoramic views as much as for its menu. For a more casual dinner, light breakfast or afternoon snack, head down to the Driftwood Café – the smell of freshly baked bread is hard to resist!
