Wilderness Lodge

Introduction

Located deep in the wilderness of Swedish Lapland, this lodge is certainly not your typical hotel. Surrounded in a forest of taiga trees and hidden far in the snow-clad outdoors, a stay here gets travellers well away from it all.

Set in a rustic lodge, the building is traditionally Scandinavian, constructed of fine pine logs and working on a comfortable open-plan layout. While staying at the lodge, you can borrow a pair of traditional snowshoes, a technology which was perfected by the North American Aboriginals and allows walkers to move over snowdrifts with ease, these are an entertaining way to explore the ethereal outdoors of the area.

You will have a choice of staying in one of the rooms in the lodge itself, or setting up for the night in one of the cabins that lay buried in the trees. There is no electrical supply, but the building is heated and the budget washroom facilities are found outside. A sauna provides you with a traditional means of warming up after a day in the snow. This is a genuine wilderness experience.
