Bear Viewing at Brooks Falls, Anchorage

from £709

12 -14 hours | Jun-Aug

Introduction

Renowned for its large population of brown bears, which gather annually at the Brooks River and Brooks Falls to enjoy a silvery feast of salmon, Katmai National Park provides prime viewing opportunities.

Usually seen throughout the summer, optimal viewing of the bears runs from the end of June to the end of July and again in September, when the salmon can be seen leaping through curtains of water on their journey to spawn.

You will fly from Anchorage to King Salmon, before boarding a floatplane for a scenic and incredible journey up to Brooks itself. The National Park staff will greet you on arrival and provide a brief orientation before taking you to a specially constructed platform from which to watch the bears unobstructed. The area is yours to explore at leisure and the knowledgeable park staff are available to answer any questions, before returning to Anchorage for the evening.

If time permits, you may consider our 2-day package, which includes an overnight stay at Brooks Lodge.

Meals are not included but food can be purchased at Brooks Lodge and food cannot be carried into Brooks. Please note that wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
