Cape Reinga By Air

Introduction

The initial stage of the tour consists of a flight up to New Zealand’s Cape Reinga via Northland’s spectacular harbours and beautiful beaches, including the famous Ninety Mile Beach.

Once on the ground, a comfortable air-conditioned mini-bus will meet the aircraft and will take you on a 2.5 hour tour around the top of New Zealand.

A stop at the iconic Cape Reinga, give guests the opportunity to witness the point where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean’s waters swirl and come together. Also home to the traditional Maori ‘place of leaping’, this area has been important to the people of New Zealand for centuries, marking the point where Maori spirits begin their final journey after death.

The return flight to the Bay of Islands includes some of the most spectacular coastal scenery Northland has to offer. You will fly over the Parengarenga Harbour and Great Exhibition Bay, which are only visible by air or by sea.

This area is very remote and, without doubt, one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand, flashing pure-white silica sand and crystal-clear water that sit idyllically beneath you in the summer sun. The flight also passes across the Houhora Harbour, the Cavalli islands, Kauri Cliff’s golf course and the spectacular spread of the Bay of Islands.
