Dog sledding is an amazing and authentic way to experience the Arctic, and this tour will give you an excellent introduction to mushing techniques and the joys of working with Polar dogs.
After helping to harness the dogs, you will set off. Following the riverbed as it meanders back and forth into Bolterdalen, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Reindeer are often seen on this tour and sometimes Svalbard grouse and Polar foxes.
You will stop several times during the tour to take pictures and pat the tireless dogs. At the Scott Turner Glacier, you will change course and set off to the dog yard. On return to the yard, you will help unharness the dogs before meeting the newest litter.
