One of Iceland’s top birding spots, Lake Myvatn attracts numerous species during spring with a variety of nesting ducks and other species arriving and starting to mate. Travelling by Superjeep, this trip offers a fascinating look at the natural habitat of several bird species in the area.
Immerse yourself in Myvatn’s abundant nature and explore the habitats of the local birdlife. Suitable for the first-time bird watcher as well as the serious birders, your local guide will do their best to show you the full variety of birds that are local to the area.
Lake Mývatn also boasts one of the world’s largest variety of nesting ducks, and as the tour takes place in the spring it is the time that the birds are arriving and mating, putting on a spectacular show for that perfect photo!
After the tour, visit Sigurgeirs bird museum in Myvatn, home to one of Iceland’s largest private bird collections.
Price from: £200 per adult
Duration: 5 hours

Chill Icelandic style. If you're in the north, the Earth Lagoon Myvatn are a real treat and a great way to soothe tired muscles after a day of exploring. You'll most likely meet locals bathing in the warm natural waters, so can consider yourself an honorary Icelander.
