Introduction

For many, the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights is the reason for visiting Iceland in winter. This can easily be understood since the Aurora’s are both wonderfully mysterious and magical.

In addition to its excellent record for frequent sightings of the Northern Lights, Iceland offers some of the best conditions for seeing stars as the air is pure and the light pollution is minimal.  On this tour search for the stars and constellations whilst patiently waiting for the allusive northern lights to make an appearance!  The guide will be equipped with a pair of astronomical binoculars for you to try out and will assist you in finding the most-known constellations and stars.

All northern lights tours are guided by a helpful and knowledgeable specially trained northern lights guide who will even give you tips on how to take photos of the show. The tour includes a star constellation map, use of a camera tripod (a must to take northern lights photos).

All Reykjavik Sightseeing tours include a complimentary bottle of water, USB charging port and a touch screen computer tablet complete with a GPS sensitive unique “In Bus Audio Guide” in every seat. This electronic interactive audio guide provides you with all the information you need to know on each tour in 10 different languages. The tablets can also be used to surf the web, watch videos and more!
