Reykjavik Whale Watching

3 hours

Year Round

Overview

An island whose whale-rich waters are world-famous, a journey out onto the ocean on a whale watching excursion is an absolute must while travelling through Iceland.

A 3 hour trip on board the M/S Elding, this journey departs from Reykjavik’s harbour to go in search of the area’s cetaceans and seabirds.

White-beaked dolphins and minke whales are commonly sighted off Reykjavik’s coast, while other species, such as humpback and orca whales occasionally make an appearance.

Bird life common to the area includes fulmars, gannets, kittiwakes and puffins, who make the islands off Reykjavik their breeding ground from mid-May to mid-August.

Transfers to and from your hotel in Reykjavik to the city’s harbour are available at an additional charge.

The only place where ice cream doesn’t melt. Don't visit Iceland's Golden Circle without stopping for an ice cream at Estidalur Farm. Homemade made deliciousness.
