The ‘Secret Lagoon’ was built in 1891 and is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland. This outdoor geothermal bathing spot remains at a constant temperature of 36-40°C and is accessible throughout the year.
Aside from the relaxing natural pool, you can also walk the paths around the hot springs that are bubbling away close by, including the Litli Geysir which erupts regularly.
Getting there
The Secret Lagoon is located in Fludir, a town close to Geysir. Its location makes it perfect for combining with exploring the Golden Circle route on a self drive.

Soft or hard-boiled? If you love eggs for breakfast, book a stay at the quirky Frost and Fire hotel where staff cook your eggs over a hotspring.
