This 4-night break combines a stay Iceland’s vibrant capital city and Highland Base Kerlingarfjoll, a remote base in the highlands.

Explore the shops and easily accessible sights of Reykjavik before heading into the highlands.

A remote mountain range deep in Iceland’s central highlands, Kerlingarfjöll is an extreme paradise of steaming geothermal valleys, glacial rivers, perennial snow fields, and panoramic vistas. Located in the Ásgarður Valley at the edge of Kerlingarfjöll, Highland Base is a sanctuary of warm comfort, hearty cooking, and geothermal bathing – a place to relax and recharge in the heart of a forbidding environment. Only accessible by superjeep between October and early June, the journey to Kerlingarfjöll is the start of your highland adventure.

On arrival at Keflavik international airport transfer to Hotel Plaza in Reykjavik for an overnight stay. This compact, cosmopolitan city is easy to explore on foot.

A stylish hotel, the 200 room Hotel Plaza is found in the heart of the old town, next to a wide selection of restaurants, shops and nightclubs.

Make your way to BSI Bus terminal for your transfer to Highland Base. Travel by minibus to a meeting point in the Golden Circle and join the superjeep transfer for the onward transfer to Highland Base, transfer duration varies depending on weather and snow conditions.

Highland Base Kerlingarfjoll

Highland Base is a sanctuary of warm comfort, hearty cooking, and geothermal bathing in a stunning mountain location.

A full day to choose from a selection of excursions (pre booking recommended) and relax in the geothermal baths.

This morning depart on the Superjeep transfer back to the Golden circle and onwards by minibus to Reykjavik. On arrival in Reykjavik make your way to your hotel. Transfer duration varies depending on weather conditions, you may have some free time in Reykjavik this afternoon.

Transfer to Keflavik airport in time for your return flight.
