Person standing infront of waterfall in Iceland

A bit about me…

I am an enthusiastic and bouncy geographer, with over 30 years of teaching experience in all aspects of Geography, in both state and independent schools, as well as some lecturing experience at the University of the West of England. I have been a Head of Geography, a Head of Year 7 and Year 13 and served as the Head of UCAS at my last school. I am now on a sabbatical and enjoying new experiences revolving around geography, travelling and my family.

I first led a school group to Iceland in 2002 and fell in love with the “land of ice and fire” with its dramatic landscapes, rich folklore and resilient people. Since then I have taken school groups in all seasons, many times, and each has something different to offer. The buzz of excitement, when I arrive at Keflavik airport, has never waned.

Why I love being a Teacher Tour Leader…

I will take any opportunity to share both my love of geography and my love of Iceland. This country is the best “textbook” ever! Just when you think you have seen the best, there is even more just around the corner. And the scenery can keep changing – displaying geography in action.

My favourite place in Iceland…

Wow – a hard decision. I love Reykjavik as a city and seeing the sheer power and majesty of Gullfoss. But really, my favourite place in Iceland is probably where I am at that moment. It is a fabulous country with so much to offer.
