Introduction
Found on a farm in the tiny fishing village of Bakkagerdi in Borgarfjordur, this guesthouse offers 30 double rooms across three log-cabin style buildings. Situated on a coast that is renowned for its marine life and sea birds, the area is popular with both hikers and bird watchers.
Guests are welcome to observe the farm’s every day life and take part in the seasonal events, such as spring lambing or autumn round-up and are also well situated to explore the village, which has only 130 inhabitants. The local restaurant is only 400m away and, understandably, features a menu of fresh local seafood. With ingredients that are supplied by the local fishermen and farmers, your meal is bound to be fresh and offer the marvellous tastes and textures of coastal Icelandic cooking.
