Introduction

Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is a small unpretentious resort focused on providing guests with a genuine eco-tourism experience.

Located on the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is easily accessible via scenic air flight from Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Brisbane.

With just 44 rooms, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort offers a variety of accommodation types from 2 bedroom beachfront units to reef units and eco cabins, with all accommodation types focused on educating guests about minimal impact to the environment and Great Barrier Reef.

All rooms are simple, but comfortable and in keeping with the minimal environment impact there are no phones, televisions or radios and all the rooms are fan cooled. Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is concerned with minimising impact to the island and reef whilst enriching guest’s experience of the seasonal flora and fauna.

A buffet dinner and breakfast are included in the overnight tariff, and for lunches there are a variety of light meals or snacks available from the Beachfront Café at a small additional cost

There are a plethora of activities on Lady Elliot Island to choose from that will help guests learn more about the Island and it’s unique history, flora, fauna and marine life. With a dedicated on-site activity team, there is a diverse range of activities to choose from including diving and snorkelling excursions, guided walks, beach volleyball and a host of indoor activities.

Dedicated to the preservation of the Great Barrier Reef, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort have reduced their energy consumption and carbon emissions by introducing a combination of solar and gas technology, water desalination and various strategic behavioural adaptations on the island. In conjunction with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), Lady Elliot Island has developed the first dedicated Climate Change Trail and Tour around the island to highlight the impacts that climate change could have on a coral cay eco system.
