Introduction

The Treehotel is a unique accommodation experience situated outside the small village of Harads, a one hour drive northwest of Lulea and just 60km south of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland.

It offers eight different elevated room options all individually designed by Scandinavia’s leading architects with contemporary design and chic interiors. Here you can get away from everyday life and enjoy the peaceful and serene environment in the middle of unspoiled nature, with great opportunities for aurora viewing in the winter.

After checking in at The Guesthouse main building, it’s a short walk through the beautiful forest to your tree room, which is accessed by a ramp, bridge or retractable ladder. The rooms are individually named and vary in size and theme, some taking extra beds for larger parties and families and some with lovely views over the Lule River valley. Each one features environmentally-friendly toilets and washbasins. Shower facilities are available at The Guesthouse except in the newer 7th Room and Biosphere rooms, both of which have their own private shower facilities. The Cabin, The Nest, Mirror Cube, The UFO, The Blue Cone, The Dragonfly, 7th Room and Biosphere, as well as the separate Tree Sauna, create an unforgettable sight as you approach through the trees.

All meals are served at The Guesthouse which oozes character, charm and a cosy atmosphere – a great place to mingle with fellow travellers and relax in the evening with a delicious and hearty home-cooked meal.

The tranquil setting is the ideal place to unwind and enjoy the facilities including the Tree Sauna, Jacuzzi bath, Swedish Classic massage and Forest Spa – all available at an additional charge. For the more adventurous there are several optional adventures taking you out into the wilderness and beyond, such as snowmobile safaris, dog sledding tours, ice fishing, snowshoeing, moose safari and a northern lights photography course in the winter. And fishing, horse riding, hiking, sea kayaking, white water rafting and mountain biking in the summertime.
