Winter has come and gone, the flowers are blooming and the air is filled with the sweet scent of spring! The perfect season for exploring, here’s just some of our favourite spring snaps to get you inspired…
Rocky Mountains, Canada
As bears across the country start to emerge from hibernation, Canada in the spring is positively blooming – from the countless cherry trees of BC to the riotous tulips of Ontario. From May, it’s possible to see the first whales of the season, as well as icebergs drifting south along the Newfoundland coast.
Kenai Fjords, Alaska
Mid-May to September: the perfect time to visit this wilderness state – from late spring through to early autumn. Best known for marine wildlife, oracs, humpbacks, grey whales, sealions, otters and porpoises are all frequently spotted in these dramatic fjords.
East Fjords, Iceland
This tranquil region is a walker’s paradise: follow reindeer trails high into the mountains, delve into hidden valleys or roam the spectacular crincle-cut coastline. A spectacular spring drive hugs the coastline, following the ins and outs of the East Fjords.
Stewart Island, New Zealand
At the opposite end of the world, spring is a revelation – producing a fantastic show of blossoms in regions renowned for their gardens. There may still be some snow on the mountains, but generally weather starts to warm up. Fine days make spring a perfect time for sightseeing, before summer arrives and life gets busier.
Blue Mountains, Australia
Nestled on the fringe of Sydney is the Blue Mountain region. With incredibly fresh mountain air and ample trails for scenic bushwalks and climbs, this is an ideal area to explore on foot – particularly in the spring months, when the weather is cooler.
