Introduction

Malangen Resort is situated right on the waterfront of Malangsfjord in a tranquil location with stunning views and stylish accommodation, about an hour south of Tromso.

The aurora resort of Malangen has beautiful fjord and mountain views and offers a choice of stylish accommodation in cabins, hotel rooms and apartments. There is a large restaurant with a bar serving traditional northern Norwegian food.

A wide variety of activities are on offer – during the winter months explore on snowshoes, try cross-country skiing, experience the thrill of dog sledding, whizz through the wilderness on a snowmobile or join a northern lights watch.

After an active day, relax in the large sauna (available for guests between 16.00-18.00) or it can be booked privately with the outdoor Jacuzzi at an additional charge, situated in a separate cabin just a stroll from the main hotel.

Camp Nikka is a lakeside wilderness camp just 15 minutes walk from the resort and the base for many activities. During winter the Northern Lights Watch activity is held here – sit with your guide and group in a wooden lavvu around a cosy campfire and keep a look out for the northern lights with a spectacular setting looking out over a frozen lake.

Hotel Rooms

There are eight standard rooms located on the top floor of the resorts main building.  All rooms offer a high standard of quality with modern decor, and include double bed, en suite bathroom, Wi-Fi internet and tea and coffee making facilities.  There is a lift providing access to this floor.

Superior Rooms

There are two comfortable superior rooms offering extra space and comfort, located on the top floor of the resorts main building, with lift access.  All rooms offer a high standard of quality with modern decor, and include double bed, en suite bathroom, Wi-Fi internet and tea and coffee making facilities.

Apartment with sea-view

Located down on the coastal rocks with the waves gently lapping a few metres away, the cosy apartments feature two bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with bunk beds, making them ideal for couples or families. All apartments have a comfortable lounge with spectacular views, well-appointed kitchen and basic private bathroom with shower and toilet. They have modern furnishings with Wi-Fi access. The apartment building is situated close to the main hotel building, so the restaurant and bar where breakfast is served are just a short distance away.  Please note the apartments are not serviced daily but final cleaning on your departure is included.

Cabins

Cabins are located in an elevated position behind the waterfront cabins and enjoy spectacular views of the fjord and surrounding mountains.  The modern cabins are all two storey with a spacious lounge and kitchen downstairs and the three bedrooms upstairs, suitable for 2 to 5 people the cabins have different bed layouts and will be allocated to your party depending on the party size.  Facilities include fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and balcony.  Breakfast is served in the restaurant located in the main building a short walk from your cabin.  Please note that these cabins do not have Wifi access or Cable TV.  The cabins are not serviced daily but final cleaning on your departure is included.

Waterfront Cabins

Each feature three bedrooms and suitable for 2 to 6 people. The cabins have different bed layouts and will be allocated to your party depending on the party size. These modern cabins are all two storey with a spacious lounge and kitchen downstairs and the three bedrooms upstairs. Facilities include fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and balcony.  Breakfast is served in the restaurant located in the main building a short walk from your cabin. Premium Cabins

Five large seaview premium cabins are built on an elevated level behind the waterfront cabins and enjoy a spectacular views of the fjord and surrounding mountains through the panoramic windows.  All cabins have three bedrooms, bathroom, lounge, fully equipped kitchen and furnished balcony.  Breakfast is served in the restaurant located in the main building a short walk from your cabin. Please note that these cabins do not have Wifi access or Cable TV.  The cabins are not serviced daily but final cleaning on your departure is included.

Premium Waterfront Cabins

There are nine deluxe waterfront cabins just a few metres from the fjord, all with amazing views.  All cabins have three bedrooms, the largest of these has two balconies. On the first floor are the bedrooms and the main bathroom. Downstairs there is a lounge, fully equipped kitchen and furnished balcony. Some of the cabins have a further shower room and separate toilet on the ground floor. Breakfast is served in the restaurant located in the main building a short walk from your cabin. Please note that these cabins do not have Wifi access or Cable TV.  The cabins are not serviced daily but final cleaning on your departure is included.

Please note, the Cabins have different bedroom options with double, twin and bunk bed rooms. We will discuss your preference and endeavour to provide your first choice, however, at busy times this may not be possible and alternative arrangements will be advised.
