No trip to the Arctic is complete without taking part in some of the amazing winter activities available at Malangen Resort.
Take part in traditional winter activities such as snowshoeing, dog sledding and cross country skiing. Or for those wanting something with a little more adrenaline, try your hand at snowmobiling. And of course there are a couple of choices on how to witness the Northern Lights.

Northern Lights
Chase the elusive aurora borealis on one of our stunning northern lights* tours. Experience nature’s best lightshow in a remote location far from light pollution. There are many ways in which to search for the Northern Lights while learning about science behind the phenomenon.

Husky Safari
A husky safari is a truly thrilling experience especially when you have the chance to be a musher in control of your own team of dogs.
You will meet the huskies near Malangen’s Camp Nikka where you will receive thorough driving instructions. You will then be able to safely steer the husky sled yourself. One works as a the sled driver and the other enjoys the scenery while riding the sled through the snowy forest.

Snowmobiling
Feeling adventurous? Discover the winter landscape between Arctic mountains on an exciting snowmobile tour. You will receive full driving and safety instructions before a short lesson. Once you are ready, you will take to the trails!

Sami & Reindeer Experience
Discover Sámi culture in a traditional lavvu alongside a knowledgeable Sámi specialist. Hear ancient stories, learn about Sámi history, and gain insight into their way of life. You will have an opportunity meet and feed the reindeer – the curious animals might even come up and eat out of your hand.

Winter sports
Set off on a journey of traditional winter travel using snowshoes or Nordic skis. Snowshoes spread your weight over a wider area, letting you walk through deep snow without sinking too far. Or you may want to glide silently across frozen landscapes with cross-country skis. Your guide will provide instruction on the equipment before you set off on your adventure.

Wellness
Relax and enjoy the stunning surrounding views of the fjord and mountains from Malangen’s outdoor Jacuzzi, situated on the edge of the pier. Feeling adventurous? Dive into the cold fjord for an ice bath before warming up in the sauna.
