Explore South Georgia and Antarctica in the company of Sir Chris Bonington CBE!

Presenting Sir Chris Bonington CBE, legendary mountaineer, writer, photographer and all-round-adventure-expert, as special guest lecturer on our Peninsula, Falklands and South Georgia voyage departing 10 March 2021.

Sir Chris has dedicated much of his life to conquering mountains – achieving the first British ascent of the North Wall of the Eiger, and leading the expedition that made the first ascent of The South Face of Annapurna, the biggest and most difficult climb in the Himalaya at the time. He led the first successful expedition to ascend the South West Face of Everest in 1975 and reached the summit of Everest himself in 1985.

When he’s not been out exploring distant peaks Sir Chris has also found time to pen 17 books, present countless television programmes and provide regular lectures about his adventures. Sir Chris received his knighthood in 1996 for services to mountaineering and, nearly 7 decades after he first started climbing, his passion for the mountains remains as strong as ever.

During this epic voyage Sir Chris will share tales of his numerous expeditions to Antarctica and around the world. There will also be a chance to watch his multi-award-winning auto-biographical film, ‘Bonington – Mountaineer’, introduced in person by the great man himself.
