Overview

Experience the best of Canada’s winter wilderness in the Yukon on this add-on break at a cosy log cabin resort located just outside the city of Whitehorse. In an ideal location for viewing the aurora borealis, enjoy winter activities amidst the pristine natural beauty and snow-clad landscapes surrounding the lodge, as well as gracious hospitality from your hosts.

This large and quiet 160 acre property is perfect for aurora viewing as it is far away from any light pollution or neighbours. You’ll stay in a comfortable log cabin style chalet; enjoy gourmet-style home cooked meals, the use of all resort facilities and a range of guided activities.

During the day your time is at leisure to relax and enjoy a number of winter activities such as dog sledding and snowshoeing. By night enjoy nature’s spectacular show from the large viewing deck or the privacy of your cabin.

Itinerary

Your trips begins with a short flight from Vancouver to Whitehorse. Upon arrival in Whitehorse you will be transferred to your accommodation at the Northern Lights Resort & Spa. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure and in the evening enjoy your first night-sky watching – this area of Canada is one of the best to view the aurora borealis.

Spend your time at leisure to enjoy the variety of winter activities on offer – a half day dog sledding adventure or half day snowmobile excursion is included in your stay. You’ll also enjoy a guided tour to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, and have complimentary use of the resort’s snowshoes. Be sure to take some time out to relax in the spa area, or enjoy a massage treatment of your choice (not included). Each evening you will have the opportunity to watch the night-sky and, conditions permitting, aurora viewing with a guide.

After breakfast your winter adventure ends as you are transferred back to the airport.

Overlooking the Yukon Valley and the mountain range beyond, the Northern Lights Resort & Spa features just four private Log Chalets and three Aurora Glass Chalets with spectacular views of mountains and green meadows or a wonderful winter snowy scene, as well as the Yukon wildlife which can be seen from your doorstep.
