Full description

In the 1940’s loggers cabins were built in strategic positions close to rivers and streams.  The timber floated from the forests on flowing streams and rivers to sawmills on the coast.  The people who worked with timber were known as loggers and they had a very hard, and often dangerous job. Walking on rolling timber and breaking up log jams could sometimes result in drowning.

During the 1970’s and 80’s this method of transporting timber stopped as trucks and trains took over. Logger’s Lodge is an original timber cabin from 1942 with a big central fireplace in the middle of the cabin.  The cabin served as a temporary home for up to 16 loggers, all of whom slept on bunk beds after a hard day’s work. Everybody had his own cast-iron pan and sat around the fireplace to cook food. You can still feel the history in the building and in the surroundings that reminds you of another era.

The Lodge

Today the lodge has been carefully renovated to create a romantic luxury suite for 2. The exterior timber logs are painted in the Swedish traditional falu red paint and the pine interior walls are burnt to emphasise the beautiful pattern in the wood.  The Bodträskå stream that floated the timber is just a stone’s throw away from the lodge.

Inside, the lodge is open plan with a very large fire place taking centre stage, casting a warm glow around the interior and warming it up for a cosy and welcoming atmosphere away from the arctic conditions outside. There is a king-size double bed, easy chairs to relax in, a table and chairs where your meals are presented - having been customised by your very own requirements, coffee and tea at your disposal, home baked pastries fresh every day, a sonos  player for your favourite sounds and wi-fi connection to stay in contact with the outside world. Everything you need to complete the most relaxed and amazing stay in Swedish Lapland.

Using ingredients traditional to Swedish Lapland, your private chef will serve organic, gourmet meals directly to your table in the lodge. Should you need anything during your stay, the lodge is equipped with an iPad from which you can send a message to your host who will be happy to assist you.
