A bit about me…

As a practising Geography teacher of some 25 years I have taught extensively across the secondary curriculum. Although currently an Assistant Head, I still spend much of my time in the classroom and have experience of teaching the new specifications at GCSE and A Level. Fieldwork has always been my passion, both in the UK and oversees, as I find it so rewarding to see pupils experience and understand the natural world at first hand.

Why I love being a Teacher Tour Leader…

Iceland is surely every geographers’ dream! It’s stunning and varied landscapes never fail to impress and inspire; where else in the world can a day trip involve volcanoes, glaciers, geysers and waterfalls? Providing opportunities for young people to engage with the history, culture and people makes them sad to leave and adds another fascinating dimension to this remarkable country.

My favourite activity in Iceland…

It has to be outdoor swimming in natural geothermal pools.

My favourite place in Iceland…

My favourite place currently is the Gjain valley and waterfalls, but I’m sure I’ll have a new favourite after my next visit.
