Hobatere Lodge is located close to the Galton Gate entrance to Etosha National Park in a concession area of over 8,000 hectares which is home to a wide selection of game, including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, eland, and Hartmann’s zebra.
The wildlife in western Etosha has developed without human disturbance and rare species such as black rhino and black-faced impala have established themselves in the area. The area is rich in waterholes that attract elephant, rhino, leopard, lion, springbok, gemsbok and red hartebeest. The birdlife is prolific and the seasonal flowers of Dolomite Hill are a highlight for botanists.
There is a swimming pool next to the main area with sun loungers for relaxing under the Namibian sun. A spacious restaurant is complimented by a lounge, bar area and an outside verandah with seating allowing for game viewing at the waterhole. Each room has a small deck in front of the unit and a small tea and coffee station with hot water flask (refillable at reception) are included for your convenience. Being a conservancy lodge, a stay at Hobatere benefits the local community and you can look forward to a warm welcome from your hosts.
Hobatere offers you the opportunity to experience game drives in open vehicles (in the concession and Etosha National Park) and nature walks with knowledgeable rangers. Early morning and night drives are part of the activities on offer where many nocturnal animals, such as aardvark, cape fox, bat-eared fox, aardwolf and genet may be seen.
