Full description

Start your Zimbabwe adventure by witnessing the world’s largest waterfall, with a 2-night stay at Victoria Falls. On a half day tour your guide will explain the microclimate of the rainforest that clings to the edge of the falls, and will ensure you get the best photo opportunities from both sides of the border.

Next stop is the vast Hwange National Park, which you will reach via a scenic air transfer offering the chance for unforgettable aerial views of Africa’s landscapes and wildlife far below. Spend 3 nights in the park, which was first established as a reserve in 1928. Today you can find over 100 species of mammal and 400 bird species in the park, but it is perhaps best known for its abundance of elephants. A choice of included activities is on offer to ensure you get the most out of your time in Hwange.

Itinerary & Accommodation

Itinerary & Accommodation

Day 1: Arrive at Victoria Falls

You will be met and transferred to your hotel upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport. The remainder of the day is free to explore the town, or perhaps take an optional sunset cruise or scenic flight over the Falls.

Day 2: Victoria Falls

Today you will join a half-day tour of Victoria Falls, experiencing this natural wonder from both Zimbabwe and from Zambia. Known as the ‘Smoke that Thunders’, Victoria Falls is neither the highest or widest waterfall in the world, but it is considered the largest. Your guide will lead you through the rainforest, keeping an eye out for vervet monkeys and banded mongoose as you learn about the unique history, flora and fauna of the region. You will then cross the border into Zambia (visa required*) to continue your exploration of Victoria Falls, before returning to Zimbabwe at the end of the tour.

Day 3: Victoria Falls – Hwange National Park

A 50-minute air transfer this morning will take you over Hwange National Park to the private Linkwasha concession, which lies in the south-eastern corner of Hwange. From the airstrip a transfer by safari vehicle will offer the chance for wildlife sightings as you make your way to your accommodation for the next 3 nights.

Days 4-5: Hwange National Park

With 2 full days to explore Hwange you can take advantage of a choice of included activities available from your lodge, such as game drives, night drives, guided walks and cultural experiences. Discover the grassy plains, woodlands, vleis and valleys of Zimbabwe’s largest and oldest national park as you travel in search of elephants, leopard, lion, wild dog, wildebeest and buffalo.

Day 6: Hwange National Park - Harare

Today you will transfer back to the airstrip for a flight to Harare Airport.
