Day 1: Arrival

Arrive on the Coromandel Peninsula under your own arrangements. Your accommodation choices are either Whangamata or Pauanui for your stay. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Coromandel Peninsula

Enjoy a full day Nature & Coast Tour with Kiwi Dundee Adventures. Pick up is available from Whangamata and Pauanui. Lunch included.

Day 3 - 5: Coromandel Peninsula

Time at leisure for the next few days. You may like to explore the northern Coromandel and kayak at iconic Cathedral Cove or have lunch in Coromandel Town and take an entertaining train ride on the unique Driving Creek Railway. The southern Coromandel is home to superb beaches, offshore Mayor Island and also Waihi where you can see much of New Zealand's gold-mining legacy as well as enjoying some superb walks through Karangahake Gorge. There is also the option to cycle all or part of the scenic Hauraki Rail Trail. The 82km trail showcases some of the best scenery New Zealand has to offer, from the vibrant Pohutukawa trees on the Thames Coast, through lush green Waikato farm lands, to areas rich in pioneering history. A major highlight includes riding through the stunning Karangahake Gorge, one of the “14 wonders of New Zealand”. The trail follows the path of two historic railway lines, running from Thames to Paeroa and Waikino to Te Aroha, while a new path will link Waikino to Waihi.
